SCOPE AND DEFINITONS
- This standard specifies the requirements for 600V single-conductor, Fixture wires.
APPLICATION
- This type may be used as fixture wire as specified in the National Electrical Code
And wire (Fixture wire) are recommended in most types of commercial and industrial applications where resistance to mechanical abuse is required.
CONDUCTORS
- Solid or Stranded bare copper per ASTM B 3 ASTM B 8 and ASTM B 172
INSULATION
- Color coded Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)
- Heat and moisture resistant
- Flame retardant compound per UL 83(QMTT2 PVC compound listed by UL)
PRODUCT TYPE AND RATE
Fixture wire (Thermoplastic Innsulated ) is rated 600 V and is designated as follows:
- TF : Type TF cables are primarily used as fixture wires for 600V applications at temperatures not to exceed 60 C in dry locations.
- TFN : Type TFN cables are primarily used as fixture wires for 600V applications at temperatures not to exceed 90 C in dry locations.
- TFF : Type TFF cables are primarily used as fixture wires for 600V applications at temperatures not to exceed 60 C in dry locations.
- TFFN : Type TFFN cables are primarily used as fixture wires for 600V applications at temperatures not to exceed 90 C in dry locations.
